What/who changed my life and why
I have gone through some hard times – in fact I am still treading water rather than getting ahead. A few years back my depression finally overpowered my ability to suppress it and I hit rock bottom, and without the help and encouragement of the caring people around me I would not be here now. About a year and a half ago I was very close to losing everything, the safety of my home, and the ability to care for the little lives I share that make my life worth living. Again, it was the network of friends and caring friends of theirs who lent a helping hand and pushed me forward whenever I was ready to give up. Caring for my cat then has pulled me from the edge of suicide. I realized all of a sudden it wasn’t just me in this bubble of hopelessness, darkness, and fear, there was another little life that depended on me and I had to pull myself together and get out of this debilitating depression or this little companion would have nowhere to go. This realization gave me a reason to live. And it ultimately gave my life a whole new purpose.
I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances.

I have been laid off due to the recession and I am in a very tight spot financially. If I cannot find work soon, I may not be able to pay my rent. Meaning, I will lose my home and the ability to take care of my foster cats. All the rescue groups are full to the max and with the flood of homeless animals ariving at the shelters daily, the outlook for my kids to get through this alive would be very bleak.
To help while I am looking, I do sewing projects and make beds (snuggle sacks) for cats or small dogs that I sell for 35-55$ each (depending on fabric choice).
If anyone can help or donate food/litter for the 'kids' - please let me know.
Thank you all. Pray for me that I find work very, very soon!
I read about the plan to euthanize thousands of wild mustangs to control the population. In order to protect the Mustang, the BLM must be removed from the management of wild horses.
There is ample land for the horses, but agency and cattlemen want the horses removed and are not interested in compromise. Sterilize, don't euthanize!
