I'm a recovering workaholic who is trying to improve my health. But I want to do it in a way that is balanced and helpful to others. That is why I foundeded GripIron.com
I left a well-paying career to start a website to help others get fit while doing good. http://www.gripiron.com/
My Philosophy
If you don't like something, don't just complain about it, do something about it (other than complaining to someone about it). And try to live as example for others.
What Gives Me Hope
What gives me hope is the same thing that scares me. It scares me that we as a society waste so much time and resources doing things that produce no social benefit to those less fortunate. Living in the richest most powerful nation in the world I feel we have a responsibilty to help our brothers and sisters around the world. But while millions watch "reality" tv farces, escape into fantasy sports and fantasy worlds, and "keep it real" as gangsta thugs, there is so much unused potential and so much real suffering. So much good not done. And still there is so much good that is done. what gives me hope is that this misused potential exists, which means if redirected we can do so much more.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Wish I knew. I'm not interested in political action, although it is very important I admit. What interests me are grass-roots movements and the power of many individuals working together. Not beauracrats doing backdoor deals, but regular people getting things done.
What/who changed my life and why
To kill a mockingbird. "Never judge a man until you walk a mile in his shoes." I believe empathy is the most important value in life and I hope to teach it to my sons.
