My passion in life is to make the world a better place for all animals, starting right in my own home. Life is life and all of it is sacred! I've never felt the need to have children, so some may say I spoil my "fur-kids" a bit. I just think it's what they rightfully deserve! ;)
I also feel that the reason I am here, now, in this life, is to work with wildlife, and I was incredibly blessed to have been able to work for a section of Fish & Wildlife with some wonderful people before my health went downhill. I don't think I've ever had a job I loved more! It didn't feel like work at all--more like a wonderful outlet to express my passion for wildlife and the environment!
I actually got the job through a "coincidence" (I think the Fates had a hand in this!). I rescued an injured turtle on a back road near the center where I eventually got the job. One of the directors of the center was impressed by my knowledge of wildlife and by my compassion, so he offered me an interview spot for that Thursday (two days later) when they would be interviewing candidates for a position open at that time. There were a TON of people who had responded to their ad in the paper regarding the position, but I had no way of knowing about it or the interview day, as I hadn't seen the ad or the paper before! So the little turtle I rescued ended up rescuing me as well from a life of drudgery and mediocrity. Talk about good fortune for the both of us!
A long story, but a happy ending for all! The wildlife rehabilitator who took in the injured turtle believed that it had a good chance of healing from its injury and being able to be released back into the wild. So all's well that ends well. :) [edit]
I'm an extroverted introvert who's more in touch with her inner animal than her human side... ;)

I've stood on top of a glacier in New Zealand, jumped off a 28 foot waterfall and climbed a vertical one in the jungles of Jamaica, seen the Milky Way by a river's edge in a tropical forest, worked with endangered species of birds, been the Bard of the Reform (RDNA) XLI, and other neat stuff!
My Philosophy
Live with passion and take lots of catnaps! :)

What/who changed my life and why
"Practical Magic"--even if it may seem silly to others, that movie motivated me to look into earth spirituality and started me down this path
