This may be the saddest day of my life, and I say that having lived through the administrations of Nixon, Reagan, and Dubbya. We've traded a President we could respect -- despite disagreements about deportations, drone bombings, and internal & external intrusions into so many people's privacy -- for a buffoon. Small comfort that in New York, and especially in NYC where I live, we voted overwhelmingly for Hillary and specifically against He who shall not be named. Small comfort, indeed. I ask my friends on Care2 and those I have not yet met, to not blame us too harshly. We will be engaged in the next four years living with the antique-store sign, "If you break it, you own it." And also, of course, with the immortal words of the Pogo comic strip, "We have met the enemy, and he is us." Please don't blame all of us; we will try harder.
I'm still sending out GreenStars because I believe they are being received even though people (including me) are not getting the customary emails saying so. Suggest you do the same...

For those who may be interested, I've written an account (on my Socratic Observer Blog) of "Walking Up (and Down) (and Up and Down) Amsterdam Avenue." It's a little long, but then it's not a short walk & there's a lot to see & appreciate. Here's the direct link:http://socraticobserver.com/2015/10/15/walking-up-and-down-and-up-and-down-amsterdam-avenue/
