Gently aging hippie, still believes in "peace and love" in these strange times. Looking to cultivate my garden, friendships near and far-away, and most of all to evolve spiritually in this fleeting human life.
When I was 12 years old, organized a protest against the Vietnam war on my junior high school campus. I was arrested by the police, and told "if you don't like this country, go back to Russsia!"
My Philosophy
Non-dualistic spirituality, nonviolence, tolerance, and compassion
What Gives Me Hope
My brothers and sisters around the world, who stand for peace, social justice, and saving the Mother Earth.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Institute universal single-payer health care. Ban nuclear fission as a source of energy, and promote development of solar, wind, biomass, and other renewable resources. Sign the Kyoto protocol, and do everything possible to stop global warming. Let people marry whoever they want to. Stop the war, and let the world know we no longer think that killing people is the way to peace.
What/who changed my life and why
My spiritual teachers - Shri Anandi Ma and Shri Dhyanyogi Madhusudandas
"We loosely talk of Self-realization, for lack of a better term. But how can one realize or make real that which alone is real? All we need to do is give up our habit of regarding as real that which is unreal. All religious practices are meant solely to help us do this. When we stop regarding the self as real, then reality alone will remain, and we will be that.
- Shri Ramana Maharshi
"Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God."
