The photo above shows my beautiful cat Rapunzel in my arms. In January 09 she passed away from breast cancer. A long haired brown tabby, she was the most noble, sweet and nurturing cat I have ever known. I was blessed to spend the last 11 years since 1998 with her and her handsome son, Tamar, who is still with me. I hope to be able to upload photos of Tamar, Buff and Sophie sometime.
quiet, simple, slow in pace, most of the time content with my life despite the many losses I have lived through. Spiritual, leaning on God. Contentment and thankfulness I have found at the other side of grief and a fight for survival over the past 3 years. I have seen that for what could have been detrimental, God provided protection and good on the other side of pain. Each day I know I am blessed. On another note, my email time is very limited due to
wrist pain and sciatica.
"Food for Thought": Something I thought about today -- It's not so much what you possess, how rich you are, or how much you have accomplished on this earth. Our life here is only half the journey, but how you treat others and the kindnesses you practice is important. What matters is what you have to look forward to in heaven.
In a dream I was in a foreign country around a poor father and his children. Although I too was not well off, I offered to buy his children clothes. He refused. I did not understand. Then I sat on a lawn by a lake with his son, and the sun rays were so close to us. His son opened wide his arms & said, "This is why we call this place, "Los rayos del sol" (the rays of the sun). Later I realized the meaning ... the earth will provide clothing and shelter, food and water, sunlight and the cloak of night. They did not need western man's riches. They just needed the earth and its Creator to be cared for.
I feel we should give back in life to what we have been given. If we have been blessed in some way, and if we are able to later give to another help, we should do so. Like kneeling by a stream, cupping water from it and drinking it, we should give that water back to the earth. (metaphorically)
What Gives Me Hope

What/who changed my life and why
My friend Jim because of his compassion, foresight, and wisdom. He was my soulmate friend who knew me better than anyone or myself.
God's Eye is on the Sparrow -- I came across this quote or message 31 times in 1999. I'd open a book and it would be there. Turn on the radio, and it would be there. It's been 47 times up to this year 2009. God watches over even the little, insignifcant sparrow and watches over each of us.
