Some people march to the beat of their own drum. I like to say I march to the beat of Mickey Hart's drum. He's one of the drummers from the Grateful Dead. It's my goal in life to try and help as many people as possible along the way while getting hurt as little as possible. Sometimes there's some not so fun stuff that happens, but you just keep on keeping on.
My big goal in serving God now is to become a faith healer. I don't mean the kind that screams on TV, but someone who goes to where suffering people are and tries to heal them with the power of Christ's Love. Admittadly, this is still new to me and some training is in line, so I really don't know what to expect. But there will be in depth training as I work towards becoming a member of the Healing Order Of Saint Luke The Physician.
More can come later on down the line, but this will be enough for now.
Before describing me, I thought you might like to know that picture of James Arnes from Gunsmoke was emailed to me by my dad. Someone did that in crayon!!!
I'm an oddball with a wish to help people. I try to do this by standing by folks and praying for them. Getting prayer chains going helps as well. I'm also an artist in many fields, genius in some (so I've been told).
I survived a traumatic brain injury at the age of nine. I have written a rock opera called Undream. I have written for magazines, had my own newspaper, created abstract/minimalist art, worked in theatre, been a publicist, am a Reiki Master, was a Registered Massage Therapist. I am also an Eagle Scout and was the first one in my district. Shoot, the wild stuff just goes on and on.
My Philosophy
You think you can or you think you can't; either way, you're right.
What Gives Me Hope
Knowing there is a Heaven waiting for me. While on earth, I might meet someone and actually share mutual love.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
There's too many things to pick one. Let's say doing all we can to help the homeless. That would be as a mayor and would take many steps. I guess if I were President, I would require everyone to do a year of volunteer work, as they are able.
What/who changed my life and why
The book and fellowship of AA, as I now am alive, sober, looking to help others and trying to live a spiritual life. The other book is the New International Version of the Bible.
Another person who helped to change my life is a history teacher in eighth grade who was my first full year with a teacher outside special ed after my tbi. I never had to go through special ed again.
Jesus wept. It's the shortest verse in the Bible. It's about Christ's sorrow for those who were saddened at Lazarus' tomb. He then brought Lazarus back to life. The two short words let me know that it's okay for men to cry. If Christ was man enough to do it, it must be alright.
