My Philosophy

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Even when it's most difficult to be nice to someone I can't get along with I find keeping my mouth shut is still the better option than lowering myself to a get even level.

What Gives Me Hope

People say you should never look back but I find when I'm worried about getting through something I can just look back and see how far I have come. Sometimes it gives me the strength to have faith in my ability to go forward.

What/who changed my life and why

Book: Watership Down by Richard Adams. It's a lot more that a story about a bunch of rabbits. Look a little deeper.
Event: Moving from the east coast to the west coast on my own with a disability away from my family. It proved my own capability to survive even though I still sometimes have doubts.
Person: One of my sisters who is now dead. She was and in many ways still is an inspiration to me. My mother who in spite of all odds against her and many trying times never gave up. She always manage to find the strength to try again. She's unbelievable and another true inspiration to me.
