I came from the Manchester area in England originally.I moved because of work offshore to the Great Yarmouth area in Norfolk in the mid 80's and made this my home.I am retired now due to medical problems, which are helped living near the coast due to the fresh clean air.I stopped smoking cigarettes in 2010 due to having another medical condition C.O.P.D.(link at bottom). Its really slowed me down, but there are people worse off.I spend my days walking with my dog ,Jess on the local dunes and on a good day,if I can tread sand,on the beach's,then home doing as much cleaning as I can.The internet helps with online shopping for my needs. My proudest moment was on Christmas Day 1990 at 7:21am.A ship hit a rig and started taking water on,I was on a patrol ship a we implemented a rescue. All twelve lives were saved and we got them back to shore on Boxing day. That was some Christmas ! I never went back to sea on ships. It was just whilst there were disputes.I did six trips in all, that was the last one, then I went back to rigs, however, later in life I failed a medical with another problem, but thats another story.I miss my work,I don't understand people who prefer benefits,I certainly don't.Every day is a struggle, but life is like that.Who said life was going to be easy hey !
