Sometimes we forget that life is all around us. Sometimes we go searching for meaning, inspiration, love, any number of things when, really, it is right there waiting for us to lift our hearts and see it. Day turns to night and a thousand stars twinkle within view, but we never stop to look at them, to truly see ourselves or our problems in compoarison to their light. The night brightens into day and the morning is filled with shadows that break into brilliant birdsong sweeter than the finest melody man has ever written and we hear nothing. Playful wind, Spirit, Earth's breath, takes up our hair to play and we sweep it back into place and continue on our way.

We hang our heads in sorrow over a life lost, story in the paper, tragedy all around us and forget that somewhere in the world a mother is hearing the first cries of her child and falling in love all over again or that somewhere someone is gladly taking the cares of his brother away, if only for a little while, simply by listening or by a passing smile. We forget that we are connected to the All, that the things we say or feel or do are not forgotten by those who have been touched by them. Sometimes we forget that we have many people in our lives that will stop and listen to the troubles of our hearts and try to understand them. We forget that somewhere someone is standing or sitting or lying in prayer and that we are in their hearts and on their lips.

We feel alone or lost or saddened because of the things we have not yet done. We try too hard to find solutions to the things that we wish were over, done, gone and we forget. We forget that sometimes we must stop and wait to see what marvelous thing life is putting into place for us. We forget that we choose our aloneness, that if we only open ourselves to the All, a million avenues of love open to us. We forget the things we have done or to thank ourselves for what we view as a waste of time, as mundane. Did the laundry? Hurray! You have accomplished something and, if you are one of those energetic people who cleaned that closet, washed that floor, got those groceries, Holy Cow, I envy you! Kiss your lover? What a blessing for there are many who know no such love and their hearts are truly peirced by lonliness, they cry out into the darkness and hear no reply. Now that is sad. Smile at someone, laugh out loud? How uplifting your own joy has been to others around you! Did you care about something today? Anything at all. Marvelous, for you have a good heart to be touched so by something not of your own doing. So many of us are wrapped up in our own things today. Our values, our chores, our anythings-wishes, hopes, dreams, desires, we forget that somewhere something or someone wonderful is passing us by, we forget to look at the obvious and to remember that if it weren't for the single grain of sand there would be no beach. It all has to start somewhere. Usually it starts, in your own life, with you. Thought must proceed action, or atleast it should but we forget that sometimes when we wish for giant steps, it is the bay steps that will carry us further. Embrace your life and look for the good. Throw your arms up and embrace the All and let the All embrace you. Forget about the what ifs, how cans and the when wills and simply be. Truly be and allow yourself to be not in that insignificant who am I voice but in that I am me! one. You may be surprised at the answer unless, ofcourse, you already know that through your heart, your love, your quiet life, through the words spoken or the ones trying to find their way out, you have touched a thousand people with your blessings. You have given love and purpose and strength to many. You have, and so many don't, set yourself as a fine example to the All, foibles, fears and everything, you have shined as a light to others. Do not be so hard on yourself. Moving forward, contemplation, striving for growth are all wonderful, wonderful things, but, they can never be truly accomplished if you forget to remember who you are and have been and shall always, somewhere, be and to be content, if only for a moment, with that person and the things they have given to the world, to the All even in such a mundane and simple way. :)
