I'm an upbeat, happy person that believes that you should never pass by an opportunity to experience something new and that every experience has something of value to gain. I try to live by the dictates of the golden rule "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Others Do Unto You" and prefer brutal honesty over pretentious civility. I am happiest when I'm around animals. I most enjoy playing pool, reading, walking, nature, my mom, and my friends. I most despise self righteous arrogance, dogmatism, hypocrisy, malicious intent and close mindedness. My symbol for life is a happy face!
I've jumped out of a perfectly good airplane just for the fun of it and would do it again ;-)
My Philosophy
No matter what you believe, reality is now and responsibility for what you do with it and the effect of your actions and your presence is your own. Life is not your right, it is your privilege and privileges are earned and can be taken away.
What Gives Me Hope
What gives me hope is not having to hope for anything because if you're hoping for something it means you have little or no control over whether or not you'll get what you hope for. I hope they find a cure for cancer, I hope I don't get caught breaking the law, I hope that guy notices me, I hope I get that job. I want something to give me life, it's what gives me life that makes life worth living and the opportunity to experience life is what makes it worth living - Whether I get what I hoped for or not ;-)
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
I wouldn't take that kind of responsibility upon myself. If human beings were so enlightened and evolved then there would be no need for laws by popular vote dictating acceptable behavior within a social structure. We wouldn't have to be told that our compulsive desires, selfishness and thoughtless actions have brought death and destruction on a global scale and may soon bring an end to our own existence. One person can not make the world a better place and is not something that falls under the responsibilities of our city, state and federal leaders. They can abitrarily veto a measure demanded by popular vote of the people and send us to war without popular vote of the people, but they have special staff members assigned to many different offices tasked with saving the world so technically I'm making the world a better place by not being one of those government leaders.
What/who changed my life and why
There are people, places and things that bring about change to my life on a daily basis. I try to be happy with whatever life brings. Change is too regular and occurrence to say one particular person, place or thing had some momentous effect on change in my life. Hopefully change will keep on happening in my life because I'd get awfully bored with myself if I stayed exactly the same.
