"I have been through the valley of weeping, The valley of sorrow and pain; But the 'God of all comfort' was with me, At hand to uphold and sustain.
"As the earth needs the clouds and sunshine, Our souls need both sorrow and joy; So He places us oft in the furnace, The dross from the gold to destroy.
"When he leads thro' some valley of trouble His omnipotent hand we trace; For the trials and sorrows He sends us, Are part of His lessons in grace.
"Oft we shrink from the purging and pruning,
Forgetting the Husbandman knows That the deeper the cutting and paring, The richer the cluster that grows.
"Well He knows that affliction is needed; He has a wise purpose in view, And in the dark valley He whispers, 'Hereafter Thou'lt know what I do.'
"As we travel thro' life's shadow'd valley, Fresh springs of His love ever rise; And we learn that our sorrows and losses, Are blessings just sent in disguise.
"So we'll follow wherever He leadeth, Let the path be dreary or bright; For we've proved that our God can give comfort; Our God can give songs in the night."

Psalm 84:5-6
"Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.
As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools."
Flowers in the winter ...
One day, I think last winter, I was struggling with such a horribly deep and dark depression. Oh! It was really eating away at what felt like the last of my strength. I managed to walk out and stand under the cloudy, grey skies and just poured it all out to Father God. Literally cried out for His comfort, His steadying hand. I screamed out for His help, as I knew this depression was becoming danagerous, once again. I seem to remember actually becoming hysterical. After an undeterminable amount of time, I snapped out of it. And the first realization was that I was turning to look down at something ... this was of no conscience thought on my part. I really had no idea exactly what had just taken place or what I was turning to look for. But my eyes fell upon a mound of pineneedles, covered in ice. And in the center thereof stood the most perfect ... most beautiful ... tiny flower I had ever seen! A warmth spred throughout my body, as the cold wind blew. And I knew then that Father God had just chased away my heart's clouds with a flower ... and a hug.
I borrowed the following quote from one of the pages of another group that I belong and really enjoy, Believer's Hope on Yahoo Groups. http://www.believershope.com/welcome.htm
When we pray it is not always necessary to consciously experience the sensation that we are talking to God, no matter how nice this would be. What matters is being with Him, living with Him, in His will. To love with a pure heart, to love everybody, especially to love the poor, is a twenty four hour prayer.

The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"
John 1:29
Imagine an annual religious ritual where two goats were used to cleanse the people of their sins. One goat was ceremonially sacrificed with its blood offered for the sins of the people, while the other goat had to bear the sins of the entire nation before being released into the wild. This may sound like a ritual from a Discovery Channel special, but this is actually a scene out of the Old Testament book of Leviticus.
God's people had sinned against him greatly, and the only way they could be forgiven of their sins is through the sacrifice of innocent animals. But the problem with this ritual is that the results were only temporary. Every year there would be new sins requiring new sacrifices from new animals. The process of covering the people's sins was exhausting. But God had another plan in mind.
God sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to be the sacrificial lamb for his people. Jesus wasn't sent to be a temporary sacrifice to provide relief from the consequences of sin. He was sent to be the final sacrifice for everyone's sins—past, present and future. His death is the final payment for all who believe in him.
But even though Jesus paid the price, there are some who still rely on rituals to save them. Some even try to earn forgiveness by doing enough good deeds. But none of these works will earn forgiveness from a holy God. Only the sacrifice of Christ can. Don't rely on your own sacrifices to cleanse your sins. Instead, look to the "Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world."
A Prayer for Today
Lord, I want to take this time to confess my sins to you. I have done some things that are not pleasing in your sight. But I thank you for sending your son to be the ultimate sacrifice for my sins. Because of his death, I can experience permanent forgiveness and experience eternal life with you. In Jesus name, Amen.

The fact is that Jesus is coming again. We just don't know when. It may not be for a hundred, or a thousand years, or it may be today. The important thing is to be sure that you are ready, for when we least expect it, Jesus will come again. As Theodore Epp said, we need to "live as though Christ died yesterday, rose from the grave today, and is coming back tomorrow."
I am "an old retired hippie". I still believe in World Peace and know that it will come, one day. I am forever grateful, in love with, and indebted to Father God for saving the mortal life of one of my grandchildren ... and my own more than once ... in a way that left no doubt that it was Him! I love all of Father's critters and do not approve of hunting, except for food. I am extremely compassionate, to the point of much personal pain. My heart breaks over the suffering of this world. It often causes me great trouble with depression. But I know the day will come when He dries up all of this world's tears. He has, repeatedly, dried mine. And He will continue to, until all is Finished. And there are no more tears.
Even as an old woman, I am still a "Hippie" or "60's Flower Child" at heart. Only now there are no drugs. Father God is my high!
My Philosophy
I have come to believe that most all of us are "good hearts". That we may stumble through life blind, spiritually, yet still most are compassionate. We may be non-believers, agnostic, etc. but still have "good hearts". Then, I have witnessed, when it is time Father God awakens us. For me this happened just before I was to enter this last stage of my life's (mortal) journey. But, what a Blessing! We are given "new eyes" for which to see God's beauty. We are given "new hearts" that open and join with Father's. And we are given the opportunity to witness His love. To feel His love! And take it from me, even with the pain and hardship of a seriously ill body ... it is a beautiful time!
What Gives Me Hope
Knowing that our Father God and King will make everything right on earth. All tears will be dried. And a peace and joy greater than the human mind can imagine will be freely poured upon the earth and upon all of us!

What/who changed my life and why
Father God, first and foremost. I would not be sitting here typing this if it were not for Him! He who loves me the most, I love the most ... books would be Bibles because that began my understanding. I asked Him to guide me in this learning and He is. The Passion Of The Christ and Kingdom Of Heaven are the movies which influenced me the most ... Carrie Underwood's, Jesus Take The Wheel, is one of the most powerfully impacting songs. This because He kept me from literally rolling my van down a hill when I had a blowout at 60mph ... with my grandbaby strapped in his carseat in the back! So that would be the "event" that changed my life. That was the moment that I became fully awaken to His Grace and the greatest love ... that I,unknown until then, had always had. I was never alone ... ever in my life! He was always there! He still is ... Halleluyah!

This video is by Debdej and I can not tell you how it made me feel from the first time I watched it. I adore the late Rich Mullins, actually he is one of the great role models in this life. He gave of himself freely and his heart was apparently full of the brightest Light. He remains one of my heros, and so does this lady who made this ... she writes, " I See You by Rich Mullins - I hope you enjoy this video-I put lots of time lapse into it. Even though the song contains very few words, they are powerful words; and I love the music. Thanks for watching. God bless you."
A little faith will bring soul to heaven, but a lot of FAITH will bring HEAVEN to your SOUL I love our spirits dancing together, U are my soul food & I'm soooooo Grateful for U. Be Blessed!!!
