About Me We are a group on students from Kwantlen University, Richmond, BC that are involved in lobbying the government for a ban on pesticides similar to Ontario and Quebec. We have compiled a list of chemicals and products available for public use. Because we are Environmental Technology students, we have studied cell biology, toxicology and enough chemistry to understan the consequences on human health. Our long term goal is a total Province wide ban, however, our approach is to ask the municipalities to join forces with us. Surrey City counsil is the first municipality to agree to hear our case. Our first big achievement may in risk of failure without massive public support. Why? because the BC Cancer society has already been before this exact same city counsil last year - They rejected the bill siting they already have a "Intergrated Pest Management" This plan does not cut it. We have compiled a complete list of products and chemicals that are not included as being restricted but still harm every living organism onlife and also accumulate in our bone marrow and fat cells as we get older we get more toxic. We may also use it in the future if our organization takes off.
