- I once talked to a very wise psychic who changed my views on life. These are a few of the things he told me: Every bad thing that goes wrong in life happens for a reason. While control our own fate, and we are not predisposed to bad situations, the fact is that they still happen. There is no need to find blame in every situation. You do not have to keep blaming yourself for everything that goes wrong in your life. Just let it go. Stop punishing yourself and rehashing out old negative feelings. It does no good.
- If you find yourself thinking negatively about somebody, immediately replace it with a positive thought about that person.
- Being vegan is the biggest impact you can make for your health, for the environment, and most importantly for the animals. The overwhelming majority of animal cruelty occurs at the hands of the meat, dairy, and egg industries. These animals are forced to live in conditions so filthy, intensely confined, are mutilated without painkillers, and denied their basic right to life. Being vegan makes the compassionate statement that you are fully against animal suffering. If you are not vegan, you can still make an impact. Every food choice you make has an effect on the demand of these factory farmed products. The more often you choose not to include cruelty in your diet, the more suffering you help prevent. Veganism saves lives!
What Gives Me Hope
The animal welfare movement. States across the U.S. have banned various factory farming standards such as battery cages for hens, gestation crates for sows, veal crates, etc. The word is getting out about what goes on behind closed doors in the animal agribusiness and people are finally taking a stand for humane treatment. Progress!

What/who changed my life and why
Skinny Bitch by Rory Freedman. I read it almost two years ago and went vegan the second I put it down. People are quick to judge the book without actually having read it. It's a no-bullshit tough love approach to get the information to readers.. I'd been handed Why Vegan? leaflets before but nothing was as effective to me personally as basically getting yelled at for my eating habits. Once I learned the true nightmare behind where my food came from, I will never again support the meat, dairy, or egg industries.
