Cyorf Foundation For Community Development is an indigenous not-for profit organization with the prime focus of providing formal education, health care, HIV/AIDS education, vocational training and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to desperately poor, neglected and forgotten AIDS widows and orphans .
MISSION STATEMENT. CYORF is a pro-life organization with a mission to empower and/or building the capacity of orphans and widows, to enable them be self reliant to intervene and respond to their needs (physical, spiritual, educational and emotional) individually, in their families and in the communities they live in.
OUR VISION. To transform lives of orphans and widows Holistically and with love to enable them come out of physical and spiritual; suffering, illiteracy, poverty, disease, and other causes to human suffering. WHY SHOULD YOU SUPPORT THE UGANDAN AIDS ORPHANS AND WIDOWS? We understand that as an individual or the member of an organization you are asked frequently to give money. We know that it is important for you that your money is used wisely and effectively. One of the main strength of our projects is that there is very little loss of resources and that you can see clearly the result of your donation. We act directly on the ground with volunteers or paid Ugandans. We don't have to go through bribes, political contributions or else. Our operations are modest and low-key, we are not one of these organizations using brand new $30,000 four-wheel drive vehicle, or staying in fancy hotels with swimming pools, or buying ultimate technology equipment. A financial contribution of yours can make a huge difference, with results that you can see in the mid-term. You can be an actor in relieving one of the major burdens on the shoulder of Africans. Helping Ugandans especially orphans and widows to get an education and also be empower with practical skills is one of the most concrete thing we can do to lifting them out of poverty and thus to giving them more opportunities in the world. WHAT YOUR MONEY CAN DO: -Facilitate the orphaned children to go to school and have a more economically and intellectually secure future. This will also reduce low esteem and stigma, on top of greatly enhancing their employability. -Empower the families to be food secure, and to meet their own nutritional and financial needs through economic empowerment. -Improve the quality of life of the widows and orphans by giving them entrepreneurial skills to meet their needs and alleviate emotional trauma. -Help in out gospel outreach ministries. The hard fact that this pandemic lacks a cure leaves the infected and affected people in a situation so hopeless that this hollowness rubs off into, and seeps progressively into the individual. This physical hollowness can easily translate into spiritual need of which provision of humanitarian assistance without it is more like preparing for a journey to the land of nowhere. For as its written in James 1: 27, pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is that which cares for the widows and orphans in their distress. As Christians, we can only put claim to the fact that we are true believers, only when we exhibit unqualified compassion to those in need. This is actually the source of inspiration to our staff, who are all volunteering without any form of pecuniary motivation. Mathew 25:35 puts it more vividly: For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me; It is because of the foregoing that evangelism is taken to be central to our work, serving as a pivot and a lubricant in everything that we lay our hands upon; offering Spiritual help and comfort through which we have seen many people give their lives to the lord, and had total behavioral turn around. We are convinced that a God-fearing populace will develop mechanisms that will inevitably curtail the further spread of the AIDS epidemic and save the future generations from this horrible pandemic plus the incidence of orphaning and vulnerability.
