Life is a journey. Retirement has its blessings. It gives me the chance to pursue some dreams. I hae no regrets being born to my generation. I thought then in 1990's that life was fast-paced. Whew! Look at today's younger generation. Seems like they are on-call, with their cell phones and laptops on all the time. I am told that if they don't do this and they slacken off, there is always someone waiting to take their place. This is April 2012- where oh where is Spring? We did not have much of the famous Canadian winter, but got a lot of icy days. I prefer snow to ice.
I love to write. I dreamt of a website back in 2003. I had a few essays and I thought at the time that was all I needed for a website. Today, I have over a hundred pages on my website.
Allow me to share this poem:
Oh yes- but Life is fragile, more fragile than we would ever acknowledge. elusive and shattered dreams, dashed hopes and a journey from somewhere to nowhere.
look at the bright side Each day is a blessing, so much to be thankful for.
Thank God for the gift of another day.
Almost the end of April 2012. Spring just seem to stay away, too chilly for a Spring day. It is a good time to sit down with a cup of coffee and reflect on Life. The internet is flooded with articles about spirituality, the meaning of Life, the Law of Attraction. All it takes is, to take a minute and watch the news- so much violence, politicians are getting out of hand, natural disasters that bring with it devastation, death and social displacement.
We live in troubled times- economically, politically, socially, environmentally on global scale. There is a feeling of helpless for those who are in the frontlines of disaster.
Last year, the world was pre-occupied with the forecast of doom and gloom- the end of times on December 21,2012. The anxiety is wearing off. But- should society take some precautionary measures just in case the weather takes areal bad turn? Power can be down for days, I believe this is possible. Severe climate change can happen when least expected. It never hurts to be prepared.
Hi Bonnie... I enjoy the many different genera of Lady Slipper Orchids out there, both temperate and tropical. The uniting character they share is their expanded labellum or lip, their modified lower lip... orchids for the most part all share a labellum, but the lady slippers have it modified into a delightfully feminine pouch. These large flowered yellow lady slipper orchids are part of a colony of at least a thousand in a park within the city limits of Burlington, Vermont. I have a few more lady slipper photos that i took in my albums. Have a beautiful evening. Best, homer
Thank you to all who sent me green stars. I tried to contact some, but I understand I can only do one introduction a week. I look forward tonupgrading my internet connection so I can be more active with Care 2.
