Depending on the Native American tribe, May’s Full Moon was called the Full Flower Moon as well as Mother’s Moon, Milk Moon, and Corn Planting Moon. The May Moon marked a time of increasing fertility with temperatures warm enough for safely bearing young, a near end to late frosts, and plants in bloom.

Some Native Americans referred to the full moon in April as the Full Pink Moon, after a type of wildflower
that blooms early in the year, helping to signify that spring has arrived.
April’s full moon goes by a number of other names in different cultures such as Sprouting Grass moon and
egg moon.  Some coastal tribes referred to it as the fish moon because it coincided with the shad swimming
    upstream.
    Full Moon: April 22, 1:24 A.M  ET.
