||I am a thinker. I love to read, learn, and meditate.
I am going through a life transformation right now after having a really rough year. My health is the most important thing in my life now and is my focus. I believe I should live my life doing what I can to maximize happiness in the world and decrease stress and conflict. I can start doing this in my own life and hope I can have an impact on others around me. Change can happen quicker than we think.
I love all the diverse species that we share this beautiful planet with. I am a big biology geek and have a passion for life that has flown into many different aspects of life.
I appologize to all my friends here for not being online as much lately.
Please introduce yourself if you want to be my friend! :)

||I've met Jane Goodall four times and I am on the first National Youth Leadership Council for the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada.
||Every being, no matter what species, size or so-called intelligence is deserving of a life and respect. Something doesn't need to be like a human in order for it to deserve these things. We need to embrace diversity and change the way we think of ourselves on Earth.
I really believe that the most needed change in this world lies in the mind - if we start caring about the world in every respect, then that philosophy will leak into everything you do, from your political and consumer choices, to your every day decisions like whether to drive or walk.
|What Gives Me Hope
||Youth who get involved with Roots & Shoots and make a difference in their community. People like Ryan Hreljac who started the Ryan's Wells Foundation; Hannah Taylor who started the Lady Bug Foundation; Craig Kilburger who started Free the Children and Me to We; Past liberations such as the woman's movement and afro-american liberation because they show animal liberation is possible.
Philosophical discussions about how to bring change and evolve into a more ethically responsible species.

||SUBSIDIZE THE FARMERS!!! NOT THE CAR COMPANIES!!!
Legalize cannabis. Create laws protecting all living beings' right to life, pretecting them from the heartless cruelty and suffering non-human animals go through on a daily basis in this world and country. High taxes for big corporations and the elite - then use that money to help improve the quality of life in certain parts of Africa and the Middle East... not by giving them weapons to fight, but giving them food to eat and access to clean, drinkable water. Build wells, schools and hospitals! Teach them how to grow their own food and look after the land, train their doctors and nurses with the latest information and technology...
There is a never-ending need for change and evolution of our species across the globe. If we reach out to one another, who knows how far we can go. Me to We!
|What/who changed my life and why
||Renee Palmer was one of my best friends, having known one another from age 13 through high school and then through university, as we chose to be roommates in our first year. She was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer at age 21 and given 6 to 12 months to live. She lived another three years, defying the odds and living each day with a sparkling spirit that forever changed my life. Renee was a tough cookie with a squishy inside. She showed me the true meaning of life: friends, sunshine, laughter and love.

Ask the experimenters why they experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are like us." Ask the experimenters why it is morally okay to experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are not like us." Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction. ~Charles R.
