The Vine Trust is an international  charity with a vision to see communities transformed. We work to bring opportunity, health and hope to disadvantaged communities and marginalized people with a particular concern for vulnerable children,in practical ways to make a better life a reality for all regardless of race, creed, gender, colour or orientation.

The Vine Trust started as a local community response to the famine in Ethiopia and Sudan in 1985. we felt compelled to do something. We established "Branches", a small gift shop, staffed by volunteers, whose profits continue to be distributed to local and international causes.

From these small beginnings has grown the realisation that ordinary people working together can effect significant change. We work in partnership with local people in other countries who have a vision to see their own communities transformed.

These are tremendous needs in the world. It is too easy to become paralysed by the size of the task. The issue is not can we do everything but can we do something.

The story of the Vine Trust is not only that something can be done but that something must be done. We invite you to join us as we connect people to change lives.

Wild Fact About Me
My Philosophy The impact of society on the environment should not be environmentally disruptive.

Conservation of resources is vital to a sustainable society.

All political, economic and social decisions should be made at the lowest effective level.

Society should be guided by self-reliance and co-operation at all levels.

As caretakers of the Earth, we have the responsibility to pass it on in a fit and healthy state.

The need for world peace overrides national and commercial interests.

The poverty of two-thirds of the world's family demands a redistribution of the world's resources.
Millions of children are exposed to abuse, violence, exploitation and neglect. That's appalling Some children have to work in appalling and dangerous conditions. Some are kept in institutions, separate from their families and communities. Some are forced to become child soldiersEvery child and young person has rights, no matter who they are or where they live. These are enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, based on the world's first declaration on children's rights, written by the Eglantyne Jebb in 1923.Nearly every government in the world promised to protect, respect and fulfil these rights, yet children's rights are still violated worldwide. children are not listened to; this disempowers them and leaves them vulnerable to exclusion and exploitation we should be doing everything in our power to change this.
What Gives Me Hope The Vine Trust is an international interdenominational charity with a vision to see communities transformed. We work to bring opportunity, health and hope to disadvantaged communities and marginalized people with a particular concern for vulnerable children. We share God's love in practical ways to make a better life a reality for all regardless of race, creed, gender, colour or orientation.

The Vine Trust started as a local community response to the famine in Ethiopia and Sudan in 1985.

The story of the Vine Trust is not only that something can be done, but that something must be done. We invite you to join us as we connect people to change lives.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by helping to establish mechanisms and structures which will promote and protect children's rights, such as children's ombudsmen and independent human rights institutions
creating indicators and analysing situations to help us measure governments' compliance with international law
campaigning to get children's rights principles and standards included in domestic law and policy
supporting our programmes to use existing mechanisms and structures (such as the African Committee on the Rights and Welfare of the Child and the European Convention on Human Rights) to promote and protect children's rights undertaking strategic litigation on children's rights issues
assisting children and young people to make their views heard and become an integral part of the change process
supporting the creation of mechanisms which empower children to advocate for the promotion and realisation of their rights.
researchand advocate pro-poor policies and public spending to benefit children
helping families to make a better living, increasing their ability to care for their children
improving the quality and amount of aid that goes towards the reduction of poverty
ensuring that revenues paid to governments by private companies are transparent and spent on poverty reduction, and that the impact of the private sector on children's rights is understood.
What/who changed my life and why Our Vision
The Vine Trust seeks to move beyond charity by building sustainable solutions. We work to develop collaborative strategies which will bring long term social change and greater global stability. We target our efforts around children, healthcare, enterprise and volunteering. We put people in situations where their gifts, vision and resources can literally change lives and transform communities.
