Pride events had extra charge to them this year. Coming together was refreshing. I still don`t understand the fools on the side lines. Or the ultra queer conservatives who think they`re too good to join the dykes on bikes or the Leather fellas. All who have really cleaned up. What mattered most was looking at 22, 23 , 24 yr old Gays and Lesbians and seeing how much more they have on their hands today. Gay was just that before A.I.D.s and I consider myself lucky to have known it. Unfortunately, most of those fellas have died or headed for the burbs with a "spouse".
Marriage will never be for me. Frankly it seems out of sorts for what`s really needed. Living in a country where I can`t lose my job, my house or being murdered for being GAY. "I Love You" and holding up to it makes for all the man I need. Those princess fairy tales, you can have em.
I sincerely hope you`re doing your part. Being out is enough. But we are as much of a threat to the Conservatives in America as Blacks were in the sixties. Because now we want our piece of the pie too. And their ain`t no stopping us folks with the bucks and connections to keep the flow going in the right direction. All these politicians having a hard time keeping their schlongs in their pants can`t afford to be so self righteous any longer. Can they now?
Get into action. Meet new folks. See the talents and plans of the youth.
