I live by the Confucious saying: "Better to light a candle than curse the darkness".
What Gives Me Hope
That there's always a chance that things can/will change/get better, so matter how despairing life seems.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Establish fundamental human rights for all by incorporating them fully into law so that discrimination is not tolerated, and so that everyone has equal access to healthcare, education, housing and decent standard of living.
What/who changed my life and why
Peter Benenson - the founder of Amnesty International, which I have been a member of for 14 years and was the spark for my passion for human rights.
Also, Oscar Schindler - for showing what an individual can achieve when it's easier to close your eyes and do nothing.
