Today is the start of Ramadan so I wish you both Ramadan Mubarak (Joyful Ramadan) & Ramadan Kareem (Generous Ramadan, ie help the disadvantaged). Although I am a Buddhist, I feel Ramadan is great for all of us to remember that we are all one people, whether Moslem, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist, etc, or even of no religion. If we ever attack anyone of any other religion just because of their faith, then we are attacking all of us, of all religions. Reading the media one might think that religions are full of extremists but the reality is that they are a small minority. We though are the peaceful majority and it is up to all of us to stand up for peace and against the religious extremists of all sorts, whether Christian, Moslem, etc, who try to impose their false ideas & vileness onto the rest of us. Peace & love to all my friends & peace for
It is now March and thus Women's History Month, plus International Women's Day on March 8th.
Much has been said & written about the status of women around the world but I have yet to come across any video that is better than Hilary Clinton's 20 minute address to a conference in Beijing, China, in 1995.
Her words very much hits the nail squarely on the head, though sadly, although there have been some improvements in some countries, for much of the world little has improved since 1995.
Indeed some countries have gone backwards.
The struggle for women's rights must continue for a long time to come.
