Strawberry Full Moon Friday June 13, 2014-Click Picture For Full ArticleStrawberry Moon – This name was universal to every Algonquin tribe.  The short season for harvesting strawberries comes each year during June.  Native Americans also referred to this as Moon of the Corn, the first cultivated crop. Corn fields were the heart of early villages. This grain is symbolic of intelligence and versatility.  The dried kernels can also be turned into jewelry and used in blessing rituals. Picking by moonlight is said to honor the crops and a sacred time for women to send up prayers for everyone and cleanse their spiritual selves.  June 20 7:02 A.M.
