A MESSAGE TO POTENTIAL FRIENDS
I would ask that you take a minute to read this message before sending a friend request. As chances are good that we do not yet know each other, please send me an introduction letting me know what your interests are, and if your profile page is more or less blank, a little bit about yourself and what your expectations are with our friendship.
While one of my main reasons for being on Care2 is to be a voice for the voiceless, I am also active politically, environmentally, and care deeply about human rights issues and causes. Because I am active on many fronts, my time is somewhat limited. Don’t get me wrong, I love to hear from my friends with petitions that are near and dear to their heart, especially when it is a petition they have researched and written themselves or stumbled upon themselves. I know this is a delicate subject to many and as much as I hate it, sending me multiple petitions that have been forwarded around and around and around, is just not working for me for many reasons, limited time being the most important one.
I rarely forward a petition to Care2 friends unless I feel it to be extremely important and urgent that action be taken immediately. I simply ask for the same consideration. Do not get me wrong, I feel most petitions sent to me are important, I just feel that most people will find these petitions on their own, either through Care2 groups in which they are a member or from organizations through their private email account.
Nothing I have said here applies to friends who have taken the time to post articles and petitions to their news pages. I love noting friends’ news pages and posting comments when I have time. I feel that anyone who takes the time to post news themselves or for others deserve at least a note if nothing else.
I’m not trying to scare potential friends away, it’s just there is a limit to what I can do in a day and I need to use my time wisely. Thanks for reading.
Below is a list of links to sites which you can visit once a day. Most of the sites have more than one cause or more than one animal that you can click for.
