The older I get, the more I am aware of how corrupt our country really is. Freedom--really? As our troops are giving their lives in their fight for freedom, our govt is home here taking them away one by one. They decide what is "in our own best interests and safety". They are involved in every aspect of our lives, going so far now as to involve themselves in the private sector of business. Yes, we still have freedoms, but not the way the founding fathers wanted it to be. Our country is probably the biggest laughing stock of the world. Our govt. is full of hypocrites and corrupt politicians, and we are overseas telling them how to run THEIR countries. Our economy is failing, our health care system is terrible, our homeless population is ever increasing, children and adults are going hungry, and our govt. wants to tell others how to live! Our education system is lacking-for a "developed" country, we certainly have an explosion of illiterate people. Children cannot read or write properly (but texting...), they are mathematically challenged, they cannot even make change without a register or calculator to figure it out, they aren't taught how to function in life after high school. If a child (or adult) is dying but has no insurance, well, that is basically the end of the road for them. We take care of other countries before we care for our own.
This country is in a sad state right now, and I am so grateful I don't have to raise my children in it. However, I fear for my grandchildren and their future. Unless we get new blood, honest blood, into our govt, I truly feel there is no hope for the future of this country. Corruption leads to destruction--how far has it gone?
