Meet Doogie! This little boy is a rescue that has serious issues... oh yes! He was given to me by my brother & sister-in-law on August 2nd, 2016. I have to say that I was NOT ready for another dog yet, but they saw this little guy and thought that I could help him. When they brought him to me, well... I just couldn't say no... he really needed someone to love him, care for him and help him. SOoooo, he's mine now and I'm going to do everything I can to make his life the best it can be... OH YES I AM! You see, he's never been socialized, doesn't even know what it's like to be outside... so sad. He's afraid of EVERYTHING! Especially humans, UGH! But, I don't blame him, OH NO! It was a human that did this to him... DAMN HIM... THAT HUMAN! He was kept in a playpen with 4 of his siblings and they ate, slept, played, and went potty in there. They never had human contact.... AT ALL! The closest they came to that, was seeing 'a hand' that put their food in there... how pathetic is that??? OH! THAT MAKES ME SOOOO ANGRY! It's going to be a very slow process, to socialize him and to show him that he doesn't have to be afraid of everything and every one, but I'm going to do my best to help him. He deserves to have a shot at life, but more than that, he deserves to be happy!!
He's very sweet natured, very affectionate and loves to snugglecuddle, too. He's also very smart and learns very quickly. Once he gets over his fear, this boy is gonna have a wonderful life... YES HE IS! He also had some medical issues, too! UGH! But, thank goodness... they're treatable and I think... we might have them all cured now. He had 2 ear infections, hook worm and something is wrong with his back, right hind leg. The ear infections are gone... in another week or so I'll find out about the worms and the leg... that we're keeping an eye on right now. We might have to take x-rays down the road. The Vet doesn't know if he was born like this or if it was an injury, ~sigh~.
His name is Doogie, he's 10 mos. old and he weighs 7 lbs., 2 ozs. One more thing... I'm pretty sure Mystic is helping me, too.
Update on Doogie: He is now 1 year old, his birthday was on October 15th and he weigh's 8 lbs. 9 ozs.... YAAY! He's a very smart boy, too... YEP! Even though he's never been introduced to the outside to be potty trained, he took to that like a fish takes to water. I am so proud of him! He's a big boy now and he's just too cute for himself, HA HAA! Guess what? He knows it, too! HA HAA! OH! One more thing... I LOVE MY DOOGIE! I never thought I would be able to love him the way I do, but this little guy just stole my heart!! He's soooo sweet and adorable, I just can't help but love him!
IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY VERY BEST FRIEND... MYSTIC.
