These are photos from an anti-war protest that was sponsored in my home town. The shoes represent people who were killed at that time during the War in Iraq. The exhibit was on the lawn of the Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio.
It was the most moving human experience that I've had. It was really sobering to see the tiny shoes of children. As well as the many pairs of combat boots belonging to soldiers from Ohio.
I will add more photos later on. This is still a very emotional scene for me. I decided to visit the exhibit without really knowing what to expect or how it would affect me personally.
When I first stepped onto the Statehouse grounds, the sight of thousands of pairs of shoes took my breath away. I spent hours just walking down the rows of shoes. I read names of men, women and children. Some of the shoes had personal items along with the name tags.
