Dr. Pena was recruited by Amazon Community Animal Rescue, Education and Safety following an extensive search. She re-located her family from Lima to take on this challenging opportunity. She shares the passion of the Amazon CARES mission. Our Veterinary Director, Dr. Esther Pena, attended Veterinary school for an additional 2 years to gain a license in small animal medicine. She is the only vet in the entire Loreto region with this title.
