The 29,000-member Chicago Teachers Union compromised with Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel to construct a three-year contract to improve the working conditions and classroom resources at Chicago’s public schools.
One of the world’s most aggressive super trawlers, the Margiris, was scheduled to hit the shores of Australia’s biodiverse oceans this month. Following passionate protests like the ones from 15,000 Care2 petition-signers, the super trawler has been banned from Australian waters. Read more.
