10 Sheep That You Will Wish You Could Cuddle

If you’ve never had the chance to cuddle a sheep, then trust me when I say you’re missing out!

Sheep are greatly misunderstood animals, who are a far cry from the stereotypes that people have created for them.

In reality, and anyone who has ever took the time to get to know a sheep will agree, they are gentle, loving and extremely intelligent individuals. Not all sheep are fussed about cuddling, but most are, and there really is nothing quite like snuggling in to their warm, fuzzy wool, especially when you need a pick me up.

To help inspire you to take a trip to your local animal sanctuary to see who wants a cuddle, here are 10 beautiful sheep:

1. Timmy

Rescued shortly after birth, Timmy from Edgar’s Mission Sanctuary was chosen to become an ambassador for sheep due to his natural charm and friendly nature. He’s quite the man about town, so if you’re ever in Victoria don’t be surprised if you see Timmy giving out free hugs at one of the local parks.

2. Jordi

When Jordi arrived at Gaia Sanctuary he had an illness that rendered him completely blind. With a lot of love and care he fully regained his sight. He is super soft and in his teenage years he has grown a gorgeous tuft of wool right between his eyes.

3. Olive

Olive from Mino Valley Farm Sanctuary is seriously the fluffiest sheep around! She’s picky when it comes to who gets cuddles, but if you’re lucky enough to get chosen you’ll soon see that she is like one big fluffy cloud that you could get lost in for days.

4. Felix

After being crippled protecting the rest of his flock from a dog attack, Felix from El Hogar Pro Vegan has been through quite the ordeal but despite everything he is still a big softie that loves attention. Don’t let the horns put you off!

5. Adam

Adam from Poplar Springs Sanctuary can’t get enough of cuddles. If you do decide to give him a visit watch out, because every time you kneel down to take pictures, he’ll be over to collect his fare of kisses. Luckily Cara Frye was quick enough to snap this beautiful image before he headed her way!

6. Lady Baa Baa

Another adorable sheep from Edgar’s Mission Sanctuary is the one and only Lady Baa Baa. After a much needed haircut and a freshly shorn fleece, this superstar sheep is ready for cuddles.

7. Ashton

Named after his handsome human counterpart Ashton Kutcher, this guy from Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary loves to be petted. Walk into the sheep area and he’ll be the first to come over looking for treats or cuddles, or both. If you stop petting him he’ll paw (or hoof) at you just like a dog!

8. Zuri

Confident and carefree, Zuri from Farm Sanctuary adores just about everyone. Along with her sister Elizabeth, she loves playing and exploring new things.

9. Stanley

After being separated from his mom and brother with no warning, Stanley found his way to The Gentle Barn. He’s a real character, and one who takes great joy in following people around the yard until they finally give in and cuddle him.

10. George

This handsome fellow George from The Farm Animal Sanctuary was born with a deformity in both his two front legs. Plaster casts helped to make his legs much straighter and he can now jump and play with the rest of the sheep gang.

Cintary to popular belief, sheep are actually right up there with our planet's most inyelligent animals.

Love them all, sheep are such beautiful animals and so very loving. Another reason I would never eat meat or now wear wool, after seeing such awful pictures of the way they are sheared. Karma needs to pay a very high price to some people.
