Slut shaming is a complicated topic for some people. Conceptually and logically, most people seem to understand that rape is wrong and that no one deserves to be raped. Nonetheless, every time a woman is raped, people feel the need to comment on (and even joke about) what she was wearing, how much she had to drink, what places she frequents and how many sexual partners she has. The media is guilty of this. Ad campaigns are guilty of this. Facebook groups and pages are guilty of this. The general public is guilty of this.
Rapists are to blame for rape. Not so-called “sluts”.
It is pretty simple really, yet most people find it incredibly complicated for some reason and slip back into their old rape culture ways. Maybe more people should listen to this thirteen-year-old explain what slut shaming is and why it is wrong. Perhaps they, and the 100,000 people who have already viewed her simple and compelling explanation, will finally get it.
What do you think? Can you take a page from her book and call out slut shaming when you hear it?

Wow and she's 13yrs old, I have a little more hope for the future, it's nice to see that not all teenagers are dumbasses :-)
Wow - wow...
This is a very wise young woman. I think that rape should be a capitol crime and all convicted rapist should be sentenced to death by impaling. Let the punishment fir the crime.
Much respect. I approve of her.
something to think about for sure - out of the mouths of children
Profound young woman.
compelling argument; the idea that women deserve rape because they dress 'slutty' is prehistoric rubbish! People should be free to dress how they want, it's not up to other people to 'punish' them by deciding they were 'asking' to be raped. It also denies the fact that rapists don't need their victim to be a slut to commit rape. If society doesn't take the 'slut' argument on board in that it's a method of controlling women, what hope have we got of ever ending the rape epidemic? And it is an epidemic, make no mistake. Let's get rid of the cheap excuses and show rapists for what they are - monsters.
Jenifer, you've been brainwashed by the culture. Personally I know several rape victims and not they weren't lying.
Do you know of one, two, more lying pseudo victims? Denise L is right. "It's time to stop blaming victims and hold rapists accountable and send a clear message that rape will not be tolerated no matter what."
Very smart young lady.
