144 Dogs Rescued from Chihuahua Shelter (VIDEO)

Recently we saw a video about the rescue of 150 cats from a home which had tried to be a shelter but was overwhelmed. That case was not unique.

This video tells the story of a woman in Tehachapi, California, who tried to rescue Chihuahuas. She, too, got more than she bargained for and, in this case, asked for help. Kern County Animal Control and The Humane Society of the United States removed the dogs to a temporary shelter set up at the Kern County fairgrounds where they were examined by vets, treated, fed and cared for. They are all happy to be there.

Soon they will be ready for adoption into loving homes.

What about the people who rescue/foster animals? There aren't always enough people to do this. And someone who takes in a mother and a litter would have "to many pets according to the town's rules." Perhaps the ASPCA or some group needs to check on these groups and not ask them to take on more than they can handle. Although this lady probably was on her own, and word of mouth got out that "she takes in" and was taken advantage of.

What a wonderful person this woman is for taking on all these animals and then for having the wisdom to contact the right agency to help her and the animals to better lives!!!

Luckily, this woman was just a very kind dog lover who just became overwhelmed with the amount of dogs. I wish the best to all of these dogs because every single one of them deserves the very best home!

What is to stop her or anyone like her from doing this again?

Some days I get up and think it's an ugly world with horrible peopel. Then when I see this I feel better because I can see that some people do care...... I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
