I have a small colony of feral kitties that I've been feeding over the past couple of years. I've managed to fairly tame one of them, she allows us to pet her now although I can't bring her inside without freaking out. With Friends of Felines they have all been TNR'd. Recently, a little black female cat has been coming around, and I believe that she had been someone's pet, she is so friendly. She has a litter of kittens stashed somewhere but I haven't been able to find them. I want to get her TNR'd, too, and I want to catch and socialize her kittens.
Thank you so much for helping the kitties, the world needs more people like you...

wonderful story - hope some of them were not too feral and taken in as pets to get off the street.
Feral cats murder over 40 millions innocent songbirds each year, not to mention millions of cute baby squirrels, rabbits, flying squirrels, and so many others. As a wildlife rehabilitator, I'm tired of having dozens of innocent babies die in my hands every year covered with infected cat bites and blood. Shame on you arrogant single-species "lovers of living things" who only see killer cats, not the dozens of innocent victims of these murdering felines. Shame, shame, shame.
Mari S - yes! Imagine if cities all over would do this, just think of how many cats would be saved from slaughter because they're unwanted and homeless. Thank you, too, for what you do.
This is such an uplifting story. What an accomplishment!
Thank you so much, Heaven Can Wait. Thank you for caring.
great event! thanks for sharing :)
what a great event....
I just had a new stray show up at more door tonight. Whether the cat is male or female, pregnant or not, feral, lost or an unwanted pet I'm unsure. He was meowing at my door wanting in as the temperatures have dipped and snow flurries were falling. I'm sure he wants some shelter and food yet seems skittish around people.
Of course with a house already full of pets it's not as easy as just letting him in. I'm not sure of his temperment or if he's carrying any diseases
The people that do these TNR progams are angels and I thank them
That kitten is awake!... I hope (assume?) that they are anesthetized sufficiently as to feel no pain!
Great ideas I too hope other communities will follow.
