The fast food industry’s iron-clad grip on the human diet is a shocking and disheartening phenomenon. Despite animal rights campaigns and documentaries that expose the cruel, unsanitary and chemically-saturated process whereby fast food is produced, people around the world continue to clog the drive-through windows, begging for more.
Now, I won’t pretend that I am one of the sacred few whose lips have never touched a fast food burger or french fries. But I could probably count all the times this occurred in 2011 on one hand. “Everything in moderation” is a motto we seem to have forgotten, not just as Americans, but as a species.
Although Care2 often reports on the atrocities of the fast food industry, the infographic below contains some facts that came as a surprise to me (especially the bit that talks about what’s REALLY in those McGriddles).
Which one of these shocking statistics is news to you?

Thank you so much for posting! Shared everywhere!
Thank you so much for the article. There's are reason why they put sugar in the buns. It's because you're appitite comes back quicker. 'Gee I wish I got another burger', half an hour to an hour after eating your meal and you were full at the time. McDonalds isn't about hamburgers anyway. They only care if it's good enough to sell. They're all about real estate. Look around and notice where a McDonalds is and check out the land value.
Every year that passes I feel better and better about giving up fast food entirely. :)
Wow! So glad I have cut fast food out of my diet, I did still crave a burger & fries occasionally, but reading this really helped with that. Thanks keep up the good work.
