October 11 is National Coming Out Day. Here are 7 inspiring coming out-related videos, mixing celebrity and personal stories about the significance and power of coming out.
1) NOH8′s “I’m Coming Out” Campaign
This PSA was actually produced in 2009 but is just as relevant today. Significantly, the PSA speaks directly to straight allies to urge them to come out and make their voices heard in supporting their LGBT loved ones and friends.
This week, NOH8 also released a new photoblog featuring a collection of 26 lawmakers all adding their voices to the NOH8 message. Click here to see Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Rep. Zoe Lofgren, Rep. Al Green and many more standing up for equal rights.

"Lawrence v. Texas, (2003) is a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court. In the 6-3 ruling, the Court struck down the sodomy law in Texas and, by extension, invalidated sodomy laws in thirteen other states, making same-sex sexual activity legal in every U.S. state and territory." This was based on a Constitutional Right to Privacy. Imagine, as LATE as 2003!!! We have forgotten so fast... and have come a LONG ways in a relatively short time! {Altho WAY overdue!}
Those opposed to Marriage Equality on spurious Religious grounds, ALSO WANT TO TRY TO MAKE HOMOSEXUALITY ILLEGAL - AGAIN! This is what Paul Ryan and other Rethuglicans HAVE SAID THEY WANTED. It is in the RETHUGLICAN PLATFORM of Minnesota and some other States!!!
They LONG for the good-old-days, where in many States, one could be JAILED and FINED for engaging in Same-sex sex -- which, of course, MADE SAME-SEX MARRIAGE OUT OF THE QUESTION!
Making consensual Same-sex sex by Adults, legal, then IMPLIED THAT MARRIAGE WOULD BE LEGAL, ALSO.
The Religions do not just object to Gay Marriage; but, they would OUTLAW GAY SEX ITSELF, IF IT AGAIN BECAME WITHIN THEIR POWER TO DO SO.
This is an important thing to Remember in November. NEVER VOTE FOR GAY-BIGOT REPUKELICANS!!!
There is not one single argument against Gay Marriage, or Marriage Equality, that is NOT based on some silly, out-dated, SUPERSTITIOUS assumptions of some ridiculous RELIGIOUS belief. NOT ONE SINGLE ARGUMENT. Nada. Zilch. Zero. Nothing.
There is NO argument against Marriage Equality that is logical, rational, science-based, intelligent, reasonable, historical, psychological, sociological, anthropological, "natural", Humanistic, or SECULAR.
Since these anti-Gay arguments belong to only a FEW religious beliefs in the world, they ought to be IGNORED by ALL governments which are governments of ALL the people, not a religious minority attempting to impose ITS NONSENSICAL BELIEFS.
The religions are screaming "Foul!" because, Oh, do they ever miss those good-old-days when they CONTROLLED governments and could impose their ideas by FORCE, by imprisonment, torture, execution... and when they had the power to OUTLAW GAY SEX ITSELF...
