7 Major Issues Mitt Romney Won’t Take A Position On

  • 7 of 7

7. Romney won’t say whether say whether he’d eliminate the “carried interest” tax break for private equity partners. Romney’s campaign has refused to answer questions about whether he supports eliminating the “carried interest” tax break for private equity partners, even when asked directly, saying only that we should probably “take a close look at to see if we’re treating capital gains as capital gains or are we treating, in some cases, carried interest as capital gains when it’s more like ordinary income.”

Whether or not Romney can continue to campaign while avoiding taking a position on so many important issues depends on the how the media reacts. There are dozens of reporters following Romney every day. They can choose to either give him a pass on these important policy issues or continue asking him until he provides an answer.

his lack of willingness to take any stance on any one of these issues is a scream of pure incompetence that should rock the globe. With the rethuglican nomination he should now be exhibiting the balls to make strong commitments on pertinent issues, and yet he doesn't have the scrote. This thug doesn't deserve to get near the oval office.

If I remember correctly, one of the Republicans complaint points against Obama is that he is not a strong leader. So here we have Mitt Huh??? Romney, strength personified, a glorious leader with strong convictions about everything. We can readily see his strength in the positions that he endorses. And in his candid and deep arguments for his positions. I dunno???

HI Beth K. If I'm such a liar, here's just one I've received.
See below: I removed his last name because, that's none of your business! Although, you may already know who he is, you are such a fountain of knowledge

Gene J has sent you a Green Star of appreciation!

You are receiving this Green Star for the comment on the Causes article 7 Major Issues Mitt Romney Won't Take A Position On:

"Interesting!! This is the same position Obama took on the health care bill, (Obamacare). If you wanted to know his position, once you pass the bill, then you can read it. LOL These words are not mine, they came out of the......"

Now BETH-Read on: It may not apply to you, but I don't like to judge without knowing what income bracket a person is in! I just like for people to be informed so they make good decisions!

Beginning January 1, 2013, ObamaCare imposes a 3.8% Medicare tax on unearned income of “high-income” taxpayers which could apply to proceeds from the sale of single family homes, townhouses, co-ops, condominiums, and even rental income, depending on your individual circumstances and any capital gains tax exclusions. Importantly, the “high income” thresholds are not indexed for inflation so will reach increasing numbers of middle-class taxpayers over time.

Romney is completely out of touch with the American people. He has no idea what it is like to do without. It is obvious that he his lacking in compassion for people who are less fortunate than he is.

David-You are exactly right. It seems as if the Republican belief system is based entirely on what the "want" to be true and lacks any real sense of critical thinking (i.e. I want to dislike President Obama therefore he must be a "socialist" or "Kenyan" or something else "bad). The entire right wing bubble exists in some fantasy world that makes it impossible to rationally deal with them. It is like trying to converse with a insane individual who makes up their own reality and screams that it is true. Of course having a 24 hour lying propaganda channel like fox news combined with countless right wing radio hate mongers makes the situation even worse. I can remember a time when the Republican party was not insane, I disagreed with many of their policies but I did not doubt their sanity.

The expression on Mittens face looks like he is thinking "What was it Karl Rove told me to say"? If he thinks any harder his head will explode!!!!!! Oh, Mittens how sad. you have flipped on so many issues your nickname should be "flapjack".

You can tell when Romoney is lying - his lips are moving!!!!!

Will Murdoch and the other corporate major media players permit their reporters to ask such questions and/or publish the responses?
