9-Year-Old Caine’s Cardboard Arcade Makes Grown Men Weep! (Video)

Next time your kid says he’s bored, show him this video of Caine Monroy, and tell him to get to work!

Nine-year-old Caine, whose dad owns a used auto parts store in East Los Angeles, was bored last summer. So he decided to take all those empty boxes lying around his dad’s shop and turn them into a cardboard arcade, complete with games, fun passes, tickets and prizes.

But an arcade needs people to play the games: enter Nirvan Mullick.

Mullick was the only customer last summer, but he was so impressed with Caine that he decided to make a short movie (see below) and organize a flashmob through Facebook; one October afternoon he surprised the young inventor with a big crowd of customers.

Not only is Caine a great engineer, he is also delightful. Or, as Mullick wrote in a recent tweet: “Caine is a killer. He has been making thousands of grown men weep at work.”

Bring the Kleenex to watch this video!

Wow... I clicked on this story earlier today but didn't have time to watch until late tonight. While out and about, my wife and I took a wrong turn off the 710 and had to double back right through East L.A.! Little did we know - until we watched the video right now - that we just might have driven by the arcade and not even known it. Gotta stop by next time we're in the area!

I thought that Caine's arcade was wonderful! I would certainly love to play there! A very creative and determined boy for sure. I hope people still go there to play, and it wasn't just that one time.

@ Lilithe M - The "big ass camera in the car" was for the documentary that Nirvan Mullick was making. Don't take away from a sweet story.

It brought tears to my eyes when I saw his eyes light up and that big smile spread across his face. I don't understand the people who would say 'No' or 'Leaning No' to the poll question. This is such a sweet story about an inventive young man. Why even post your negativity at all. Just go away, if you don't like the story. The rest of us have a heart.

Um, there's a big ass camera in the car with him. How could he NOT know what was going on? Must have been a reenactment?
