Ad Wars: GOP Comes After Obama On Gas, Mics And ACA [VIDEOS]

Let the outside spending begin! Having no official candidate doesn’t matter to super PACs and outside interest groups, since they can’t “support” an individual candidate anyway.  What they can do is attack a candidate, and all of them are coming after President Barack Obama from a different angle.   The RNC’s controversial audio spliced anti-Affordable Care Act web ad, American Crossroads’ “hot mic” ad, and the new Koch-aligned gas prices ad are all below for your viewing pleasure.

If you look listen to the first video, the audio on the Supreme Court testimony on the Healthcare bill has been tampered with so it sounds as if the lawyer for the administration is hesitating or at a loss of words. The rightwing zealots who made this commercial just looped or duplicated the words spoken one time and made it appear to the listener that the lawyer was fumbling. You can also hear the pouring of the water over again as well.

Another reason that the Citizens vs. United case be rescinded or legislation passed to clarify that corporations are not people and they should not be able to contribute unlimited amounts of money to political candidates as and at the same time their identity not made public.

The car makers could have sold many units that offered better gas mileage, but for years and decades they had refused advice to improve mileage, denied it was necessary -- until in '08 and '09, when it became CRITICAL to their revenue. An essential rule of Economics 101: when the time comes for brisk sales, and you have nothing to sell, you go broke. So, what happened to GM and Chrysler? Hundreds of thousands of fat-ass gas hogs remained on lots, unsold. And as had been predicted for 20 years, they went broke.

Obama has pushed car makers to double car mileage -- and even though within 10 years 50 m.p.g will be a reality, some in the auto industry, with the howls of their paid-off Republican't hookers, are still SCREAMING that it's unfair. WHY DO IDIOTS NOT LEARN THE APPROPRIATE LESSONS? WHY SHOULD OUR SOLDIERS GO TO WAR SO AMERICANS CAN DRIVE 16 MPG SUVS TO THE SHOPPING MALL? Obama is not responsible for the high price of gas. High worldwide demand, oil speculation, and a lot of wasted gas on American roads is responsible. Get over it. Or walk.

Here's a link to a sensible analysis of the gas price matter. NONE of the article blames Pres. Obama. In fact, all top economists and market watchers agree he has little influence over global oil markets, and the piece quite reasonably assesses why. And the Republican'ts KNOW it's not under his control, but of course they will never let a few honest facts or the truth of the matter get in the way of their power grab.

My own take: if the nation truly wants lower gas prices, millions of drivers should stop wasting the crap in lazy-ass runs to supermarkets 1/2 mile away or in frivolous trips to the mall, and so on. Oil may be cheaper if there is less demand for it, and U.S. drivers use more of it than any other nation. CHEAP GAS IS NOT A NATIONAL BIRTHRIGHT, PEOPLE! (For a period during the Reign of W, around '06, gas per gallon was higher than now--but you didn't hear Republican't pols screaming then, did you?) In Europe, gas is AT LEAST TRIPLE our cost per gallon, in part because of heavy taxes used to lower demand AND used to maintain the roads. U.S. drivers should finally and permanently learn the lessons of '07-'08, when the car companies crashed. One of the causes was a plunge in Recession buying power and credit, of course, but also in the cost of gas for 15 m.p.g beasts and the plunge in sales of them.

The car makers could have sold many units if they

The regressive Republican Party of No is obstructionist, mean-spirited, thuggish, religiously fanatical, scientifically ignorant, corrupt, hypocritical, xenophobic, racist, sexist, homophobic, evolution and global warming denying, oily, anti-environment, anti-health, anti-consumer, anti-choice, anti-birth control, anti-education, anti-99%, union busting, Medicare mashing and Social Security slashing, fiscally irresponsible, authoritarian, selfish, greedy, out-of-touch, dishonest, lacking compassion, warmongering, and otherwise dangerous.

Scarlett G:

So, you think "all's fair in love, war and politics!!!"? On the contrary, when we excuse politicians and the big-money guys who support their campaigns from being honest, when we allow and even encourage them to lie to us, we ALL lose. When we vote for the person who says what we want him to say rather than telling us the truth, we have lost touch with reality. And you can't fix things unless you have a realistic picture of what's broken.

Being an informed voter -- whatever party you belong to -- means educating yourself about the issues, from more points of view than only one, and not making our elections into the popularity contests that Senior Class President and Homecoming Queen were back in high school.

7 billion people can have no impact on the climate, but one man can control global oil prices, just keep repeating that and they'll believe it, while the Koch brothers, who have an entire division that does nothing but speculate on (and drive up) oil prices contribute in excess of 3 million to the campaign to blame the President.
They understand that their base is incredibly dense.

"They need to go after his arse for EVERYTHING!!!"

As a senator, Obama pushed for the new START (for STrategic Arms Reduction Treaty). It was ratified in February 2011. He'd been in office for just over a year. Yes, let's "go after his arse" for that. (After all, we need MORE nuclear weapons, not less--right?)

He has been instrumental in the repeal of DADT. (I think I just re-annoyed the homophobes.) Let's "go after his arse" for that.

He oversaw the creation of more jobs in 2010 than Bush did in his eight years as President. Let's "go after his arse" for that.

He "bailed out" the American auto industry with a loan that has since been paid back, thus saving at least 1.4 million jobs (including mine). Let's "go after his arse" for that.

For a more complete list of what Obama has done that we need to "go after his arse" for, visit
