Arizona Takes Up Another Abortion Ban

Arizona is taking up yet another abortion restriction bill, and this latest is among the cruelest we’ve seen.

Arizona House Bill 2036 would ban abortions at 20 weeks and, if passed and enacted, would make it the most extreme abortion ban anywhere in the United States. At the 20 week mark most women have not yet had enough prenatal care to know if the pregnancy poses a threat to their health or if the fetus is even viable. This is just another attempt by legislators to substitute their own political agenda for the very private, personal decisions a woman, her family and her doctor make together.

And Republicans are practically crowing about this. State Representative Terry Proud wrote in an email:

“Personally I’d like to make a law that mandates a woman watch an abortion being performed prior to having a ’surgical procedure.’  …don’t we want more transparency and education in the medical profession anyway?  We demand it everywhere else

“Until the dead child can tell me that she/he does not feel any pain — I have no intentions of clearing the conscience of the living — I will be voting YES.”

The curtain has been pulled back on this agenda for everyone to see. Punishing women for the crime of becoming pregnant when they can’t support a pregnancy, for whatever reason, is the principle platform of the right.

We can stop this bill. We have to stop this bill. Call, write, email, spread the word. It’s working in Idaho and it can work in Arizona.

Legislators are a bunch of Idots for voting this in, Women will just make attempts at more extreme cases to force an abortion, possibly more cases of suicides due to this. Sick of politicians slowly picking away at peoples freedom's. They should have a bill that requires men to be castrated in cases of rape and end up in jail.

The Bible is completely pro-abortion. It says that priests should give women abortions if they're accused of cheating on their husbands, that God performs abortions to punish parents, that if a man punches a woman in the stomach and causes her to miscarry it isn't murder, and that fetuses and infants less than one month old have NO VALUE.

It's bad enough that these "religious" nut-jobs are trying to force their beliefs on us, but that they're doing it without actually reading the book they claim tells them that this is wrong... it's just infuriating!

They don't give up easy in Arizona even though the next proposal is more crazy than the previous.

Steve, have you got a TV, a radio, access to newspapers?
If yes, your post is -at best- desigenuous, because you know by now that contraception and sterilization are against the Catholico-Taliban Church rules and that, the GOP has already demanded that insurance coverage for contraception be discontinued (vasectomies and tubal ligations can't be far behind).
Furthermore, you fail to take into account that:
-it's difficult to anticipate that one is about to be raped and take precautions and the day-after pill is not given in Christian pharmacies
-when the pregnancy is wanted, but becomes life threatening for the mother, the pill is useless and an abortion must be performed... and pregnancy related health/life threatening conditions such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, hemorrhages, etc. cannot be predicted in most cases
-when a fetus is too severely damaged to survive birth, or will be born in need of lifelong support the parents cannot provide, it is unconscionable to tell an already grieving woman that she must proceed with the pregnancy, knowing that -with the GOP budget- no one will be able to prevent that child from dying
-even when the pregnancy is going well, there is a chance that either (or both) mother and child will not survive the delivery.
Do you really think that you have the right to tell a woman that she must put her life on the line for an parasitic embryo (under 10 weeks) who isn't independently alive and may never live anyway? (2/3 of conceptio

Oops, please forgive some of the glaring typos! I am both tired and angry/frustrated and unfortunately sometimes "the" becomes "them" or worse.

Now, onto all the babies your want born that were brought on by rape and incest.

Do these babies get adopted through sealed adoptions?
Do the adoptive parents get to know all them hideous details? Including the very real possibilities of genetic deformities, abnormalities, etc. Do they get them money it's will take for all them myriad health issues, mental, emotional, physical? Since, AGAIN, your party is closing or not funding the agencies, foundations, etc. that do or used to help.
Does the rapist get a chance to KEEP the baby?
Does the family member who committed the incest get to take "their" baby home???

Now, onto the ones born with the multitude of health issues; from the so-called simplest to the mind numbingly bad. AGAIN, since all the possible free or relatively inexpensive help is gone or being defunded and medical help is NOT COVERED by any insurance, WHO is going to pay the LIFETIME BILLS the adoptive parents are going to incur????
Or are only the RICH republicans going to get to adopt the truly damaged, disabled, going to die a slow agonizing death, maybe if the child is lucky, by 5 babies??

Now, if, NONE of them are adopted, exactly what kind of orphanages are your party going to design?
COME ON. TELL ME! I really want to know.
As do others.

Since they same people who want to ban abortion also want to END ALL KINDS of things that do help people take care of infants and children; such as WIC, programs like Jumpstart ( it's later, I think that's the right name of what I'm thinking of), free or low price school breakfast/lunch programs, etc. These same people oppose any things that might help; like a national health care system.

So, AGAIN, I ask - just with all of THESE unwanted children being born, WHAT are the christo-taliban, republithugs's answer for what you're going to do with them??? Orphanages? Hmmm??? ARE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU going to open your homes to a minimum of 2 each? Obviously we can wait til what age 5 months? 1 year? To see if they're adoptable, then you can divvy them up. Are your "I'm not really racist" folks gonna step up and adopt the mixed race babies that I PERSONNALLY was told by anti-abortion protesters, they didn't want?!?!?!

Ok, let me kinda give a heads up or a warning here: 1) this is LONGGGG, 2) I don't particularly care that I got carried away and 3) I may just decide to keep it to post again and again like some others do. Especially if I think it's nessecary. Oh, in MY opinion!

I am soooo sick of hearing people throw around these numbers of abortions.
One, I dispute any of these numbers simply because one side wants to inflate them for their agenda, the other side probably underrepresent for their agenda, and them truth is somewhere in the middle.
Two, if we graciously eliminate ALL the abortions for so-called "real" reasons such as risk to the mother, rape, incest, and severe health concerns and we only count the so-called "unacceptable" abortions such as not ready, not stable enough financially, too young, just too name some of the reasons.
What on gods' green earth are we going to do with all of these unwanted babies? No. Really, I want to know.
Keep in mind I'm WELL AWARE of the pathetically low numbers of adoptions when it comes to any BUT white babies.
Keep in mind you ALREADY have people who kill the child after it's born. Sometimes as an infant, sometimes later in their childhood. OR they neglect or worse ABUSE the child it's entire life.
Or hey! Lately, we've seen an increase in selling infants and children. And not always for "good" purposes, if there ARE any "good" purposes.
Since they same people who want to ban abortion also want to END ALL KINDS of things that d
