Barbara Bush: I Never Put A Fetus In A Jar

It didn’t take long after former President George W. Bush published his new memoirs for accusations of plagiarism to hit the media.  One story no one accused him of plagiarizing, however, is his story of his mother showing him a fetus in a jar after her miscarriage, converting him to his pro-life ways.

Turns out that wasn’t plagiarized, but it wasn’t his mother, either.

Via Huffington Post:

Former First Lady Barbara Bush said Monday that she had never, as her son George W. Bush intimated in his new book, placed her stillborn fetus in a jar — but her housekeeper had.

Bush made the claim during an interview on CNN’s “Larry King Live,” in which she sat with her husband, former President George H. W. Bush, and explained the situation.

“I didn’t put it in the jar,” Bush said, clarifying that it wasn’t as if it was “in the library” on display.

Bush continued:

“Paula [the housekeeper] put it in the jar. And I was shocked when she gave it to him to — but, you know, memories dim a little bit but, anyway.”

Such a potent memory, an outlook changing moment.  And the former president can’t tell the housekeeper from his mom.

Please don't publish any more of these 'freak family skeleton' stories.
Thank you!

Oh PUHLEAZE! This is so much worse than "I tried pot but didn't inhale"! Is this for freaking real? What kind of people did she hire then? Does it matter WHO put a dead fetus in a jar? The fact that it happened, and it got shown to her children is what makes it bad, and so what, as a mother, Barbara couldn't protect her children from seeing something that gruesome? Holy crap. I knew there was a reason I didn't like that whole family. The ONLY good one is Laura Bush, she is a classy person. She needs a saints award for putting up with all of them.

Watch out and red alert, guys and gals, in a few years they -- the media and other arms of the power structure -- will start to make a run at foisting more Bushies upon us. We can't have a "man of the people" when the lord of the corporations must be in office to serve them.

Who'd believe anything any professional liar such as all members of the Bush family have repeatedly prooved themselves to be, as well as international war criminals guilty of ordering mass murder, the us of internationally illegal DU WMDs and torture.
Shame any of them survived birth the hiddeous parasites.
Shame americans haven't done the right thing and prosecuted them for their crimes!

Judith, I agree! The wrong one ended up in a jar, LOL!

Janice L., it's my understanding that she didn't keep it, it was the result of a miscarriage (at home) and it was their maid or housekeeper who did, for some weird reason. Maybe she was studying biology, or anthropology and after having seen "G.W." thought he might be the "link", if you get my drift?

That man is simply a whackjob. What in the world does a miscarried fetus in a jar have to do with abortion? Anyway, what's Barbara Bush doing keeping the thing? I thought she was a smart woman. She needs a dose of learn-to-let-go.

This is a ghastly thought. She actually gave birth to W. "

I understand all chickenhawks' like Dubya were hatched, and partially reared in an incubator...and later 'reared' by his inbred cousin John Kerry during his 'Bonesmen' initiation ritual.

Truely sad that you justify Bush's ignorance and arrogance in a presidency filled with the promotion of greed and hate, simply because you vote him most likable to catch a buzz with.

History is filled with socio-paths that duped thier supporters because they think he is just a nice and regular kind of guy. Hitler did this for years before showing his true colors.

Your lack of standards and expectations for an enormously powerful position is evidence and has directly supported America's decline from its constitutional, civil and humane values.

Values, that in this diverse, complicated and violent world, takes intelligence, compassion and hard work to maintain. Not the un-apologetic, even when I'm wrong (as Bush so often boasted during his presidency) charisma you want to party with.

P.S. I do not "hate" G. W. Bush, just understand his rhetoric and actions as detrimental to positive social and economic inneraction between people throughout the world.
