Beautiful Anti-Homophobia Sand Animation (VIDEO)

Thursday, May 17, is the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT) and this year Care2 is bringing you personal stories from around the world on the fight to eliminate anti-LGBT prejudice and discrimination. For our complete coverage, please click here.

At Care2 we’ve brought you a number of inspiring and powerful messages for International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia 2012, but I think this one has to be one of the most evocative.

Below is a sand animation by artist Silvia Emme that she released to commemorate IDAHOT. It is simply memorizing:

over 1500 species that have homosexuals and only one species that is homophobic. And to lois e. there was a study that showed that those who are the most homophobic are possible homosexual themselves. and doesn't the bible say judge not lest thee be judged? seems to me these so called christians follow the bible if it works for them but when it comes to real christian works they ignore what needs to be done. aren't we all god's children? god's children are all different. pathetic. the catholic church is full of pedophiles and that's ok. when fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross.

There is no such word as homophobia! A phobia is an extreme fear of something, such as high places, closed in places, extreme fear of spiders, and so on. The homosexuals made that word up to make those of us (Christians) who believe the homosexual lifestyle is "an enormous sin" as it says in the Holy Bible, to look "bad". . . Try as they might, the word of God, the Holy Bible has the last word!

Wonderful video, Steve Williams! (just to pit a small nit, though - I *think* you wanted to say "mesmerizing", not "memorizing"... ;-)

Thanks for posting it!
