Give to the Max Day Raises $2 Million for Washington DC Nonprofits

Starting at midnight on November 9th, nonprofits around Washington DC started raising money as part of Give to the Max Day – a one day online fundraiser created by Razoo and supported by supported by several major partners, including Care2.

At the end of 24 hours, $1,886,584 had been donated to 1,285 different nonprofits. Top nonprofits were also eligible for prize money donated by various partners and that brought the total raised to $2,034,584. Over 17,000 donors participated in the day’s fundraising challenge.

Razoo had previously held two Give to the Max Days in Minnesota raising a total of $24 million for 4,000 nonprofits.

Spanish Education Development Center
Trustees of the Corcoran Gallery of Art
L Archie, Inc.
Little Lights Urban Ministries

Top nonprofits by most donors were:

Little Lights Urban Ministries
Homeward Trails Animal Rescue Incorporated
Kristin Brooks Hope Center
Trustees of the Corcoran Gallery of Art
DC Lawyers for Youth

Each nonprofit created a customized giving page that listed multiple giving amounts and specific ways that those amounts would be used to help the organization. Nonprofits were also encouraged to spread the word about Give to the Max Day and rally their followers on social networks, like Facebook and Twitter, to generate additional donations.
