Chelsea Clinton: Congresswoman, No. Correspondent? Yes.
It seems that the “Chelsea Clinton is having a seat in Congress prepped for her” rumors are finally over. The daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former New York Senator and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced her newest gig for the near future, and it doesn’t involve a 2012 run of any type.
Via The Hill, the former First Daughter has taken a job as a correspondent with NBC, becoming the face of a special series for NBC Nightly News called “Making a Difference.” The series will involve segments about volunteers across America.
The station spoke glowingly of the new correspondent and all that she has to offer, besides, of course, having a famous name to help bring in ratings. “‘Chelsea Clinton has led a remarkable life. She possesses an uncommon understanding of humanity — on city streets, across this country and around the globe. We are so excited she’s joining us to tell the stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things,’ said ‘Nightly News’ anchor Brian Williams in a statement.”
So, running for office is obviously on the back burner for now. Although, when she disappears from the screen, then you can start the speculation all over again.
