Daily Cute: Cloody the Bunny Takes a Relaxing Bath

Daily Cute: Cloody the Bunny Takes a Relaxing Bath

Bath time for Cloody the Bunny is no struggle.  The warm water relaxes Cloody so much, that he ends up falling asleep in the sink!

His owner notes that she seldom bathes Cloody since it’s not necessary for rabbits, who can use their tongues to clean themselves. However, since he can’t reach his back he likes the water when it’s necessary. His owner also holds him in baby position which enjoys, and Cloody often falls asleep this way since  he finds it relaxing. After his bathes, he goes outside to dry off as usual.

I had a rabbit when I was 13 years old and I would go to the grocery store and ask for lettuce clippings. I miss my bunny.

Back for a second look! I had a black and white Dutch rabbit once. He was housetrained and used to chew up the hearthrug!

I thought Cloody was actually a STUFFED rabbit (the things people do to make a Utube video!) but finally he moved! He must love it to lie like that!

Although initially, to many people, the rabbit did not look uncomfortable--it is difficult to tell. It seemed to freak later on. When a rabbit is terrified, both ears are flat back against its head (as is the case here) and they often freeze (also the case in the beginning). Rabbits are often very timid. It is possible that the rabbit was terrified. It is not a good idea to bathe rabbits--it strips their natural protective oils and can be extremely stressful--similar to cats. Both species have the same issues, and both, normally keep themselves clean and groomed. Although there are always exceptions, it is easy to misinterpret their reactions--they can go into shock and have heart attacks--so be very careful, and only bathe if absolutely necessary--it is not natural behavior. Responsible animal caretakers have to thoroughly research what is normal for their pet, under different circumstances, and not assume that their human interpretations are accurate. I have often seen people mistake fear for calm--often in Care 2 videos.

Heaven help us here in America if this man and the Tea Party and whats left of the GOP party take over…

The end DOES NOT justify the means. All those with eyes can see that ... do they walk away in protest…
