Daily Cute: Happy Cows Dance into a Meadow After a Long Winter

Editor’s note: This post is a Care2 favorite, back by popular demand. It was originally posted on February 25, 2014. Enjoy!

In Overath near Cologne, Germany, these cows were about to be sent to the slaughterhouse. The farmer could no longer afford to keep them, and there was nowhere else for them to go. Anke Heublein, who saw them on the farm all the time, decided she couldn’t stand back and let that happen. She started a foundation to save the cows and allow them to live out their lives playing in the pasture and running through the grass.

Watch how happy these cows are as they leap for joy when they go out to pasture for the first time after a long winter spent indoors.

Humans better get off the idea they have the superior rights to animals. They don't even come up to the same rights as animals. Humanity's crimes and atrocities against the planet have caused them to forfeit any imaginary rights they think they deserve.

I grew up on a farm and remember well watching the cows frolic on getting outside after a long winter in the barn. They are gentle, intelligent creatures and deserve good lives as much as we do. Blessings to Anke Heublein, and thanks to Care2 for reviving this joyful memory.

Thank you Anke Heublein for stepping up to save these cows. Looking at how they run and frolic in the meadow it is unthinkable how anyone could see them as food. They deserve to live a good life just like any other living being.

Please stop eating animals, and please stop eating all dairy products. That's the only way to stop this madness!
