Daily Cute: Rescued Echidna Puggle

This cute little creature is Beau the echidna, an egg-laying mammal and relative of the platypus. Beau was found on a walking trail at the young age of 30 days. Caretakers at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney think Beau fell out of its mother’s pouch, because babies are kept in the pouch for up to 50 days, after which the mother keeps them in a burrow for another two months or so.
