Doin’ Good: 20 Places You Can Text Holiday Donations To

Raise your hand if you’re reading this article from your phone.

Know what else you can do with your phone?  Help support great organizations.

‘Tis the season for giving, and who better to give to than the non-profits that fight diseases, make dreams a reality, and show us the everyday rockstars who work tirelessly to make the world a better place?

But change typically can’t come without funding, which is why, since the massive text donations following the Haiti earthquakes, charities and non-profits have been jumping on the mobile giving wagon through

mGive also has a mobile app available through the iTunes store for more charitable giving on the go.

It’s easy to text your donations.  If an organization you support has an account set up, simply text their keyword to a shared short code they have with other campaigns.  A $5 or $10 fee will be added to your wireless bill that month, then transferred to the organization.

There are many participating organizations that you can text your donations to.  Here’s just a sample of the non-profits who are making it easier for you to give support:

Perhaps it is time and we, the common people, must take the heros by the hand and guide them.

We must discipline and watch those in offices that once held heros.

We, the busy, overworked, unpaid, despairing people must take the "heros" (hah!) and lead them by the hand. We must slap those hands or put candies into them.

Lord, we need heros.

Has our nation back slidden so much that you have taken away the heros?

For, behold, the LORD, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread and the whole stay of water.

The mighty man and the man of war, the judge and the prophet and the prudent and the ancient.

The captain of fifty and the honourable man and the counsellor and the cunning artificer and the eloquent orator.

And I will give children to be their princes and babes shall rule over them.

And the people shall be oppressed,Isaiah 3:1-5

Wake up, America.

We are like ancient Israel just before Jerusalem was invaded.

Wake up, turn to Creator and repent!

There is only a little time left.

Stick with the Salvation army if you must. They keep the least. Red Cross regional managers make $420k a year!

Thank you for the list. My giving will have to wait until after the 1st, but will give to a few of these. Amnesty International USA for sure. Will also give to Southern Poverty Law Center, Innocence Project, Doctors Without Borders, and if the money lasts, Seva.

I will never give to a foundation that KEEPS 85%of donations. Haiti is a prime example. $850 million was given. All but $722 million made it there.

850 got them 122!

Most of these are good except Peta who don't care about animals but themselves. They are mostly bullies who try to push their vegan diet on people. They have a bad track record of supporting groups that damage things and are militant. Give to a real shelter not these losers.
