Fur Free Friday 2010 – Video Tribute

November 26, 2010 is Fur Free Friday – the one day when animal rights groups around the world come together for the sole purpose of ending the suffering of animals used in the fur industry.

It’s a day filled with forums, protests and marches to educate the public about the 30 million animals that are electrocuted, poisoned or skinned alive for their fur.

It’s a day that urges people to choose compassion.

Click Here to see the worldwide list of Fur Free Friday events.  It is compiled by the International Anti-Fur Campaign.

AnimalMedia put together the following non-graphic video about the fur industry.  Please share it with your friends.  The fur industry will be forced to close its’ doors when educated people stop demanding their products.

Participated in the Rodeo Dr., Beverly Hills protest. It was the biggest ever, 150 marchers, with more joining in as we marched. The idiot driving by in the Hummer waving her fur muff out of her window notwithstanding, it was great. I think the chant that went, "One struggle, one fight, human freedom, animal rights" pretty well summed up the feeling of the event. If only.....

Many people still don't realize that the fur coming from a place like China are companion animals. What I found disturbing that in those markets many of the cats and dogs there have been seen with still wearing their collars.

I find it interesting that women are viewed as the more compassionate of the sexes yet still wear fur.

Jennifer E. your attitude about fake fur and fur replicas isn't a good one. Wearing man made fabrics that are soft and look like an animal is a healthy way to show your love of animals! Looking like an animal can make you feel closer to that particular animal. We need to feel a connection to nature and a non-cruel way is good! Please don't down people for wearing things that man makes because it's better than wearing something God made! God made animals first and they have souls people! I speak from a unique posistion as a furry and as someone who's into Animal Shamanism. Fake fur has it's place in the world and I believe it's needed on a spiritual level!
Again, please don't hate on people who are being kind by wearing fake fur, instead applaud them for the positive message they are backing!

I hate the idea of wearing fur, unless you live in the sub-regions of the earth and you have absolutely NO ability to purchase superior clothing for staying warm. It makes me want to vomit when I see people, especially in the warm (by comparison) weather cities donning even 'fake' fur. The act of wearing something that represents a CULTURE of brutality, all in the name of unbridled vanity, is to me, shameful and humiliating as a member of the human race.

this should be adopted as a crime against nature as any other we use to do..........spread pollution and hate over the planet we all are the ones who should be pointed as guilty, but we don't have the necessary courage!

It's the women fault when fur has become fashionable again. I don't understand how women can be so backward and adopt whatever fashion dictates. They want to be equal to men. Men are not as much adicted to fashion as women.
