Tim Gunn is a HERO! He is very well-known and liked and he is not a hypocrite. Now, if we can get Heidi to speak out about fur, what a terrific team they would make.
@ Adam ZMy first thought when I read your post was Hey, humans {except for slaves, of course ] have choices about what they will put up with, and also whether they want to produce children and watch them suffer in cruel employment. I saw a TV doc about a white man in Africa who has a huge tract of land and keeps all species of native animals on this land protected by armed guards. The reporter noted that some say this man likes animals more than people. The full response was Do they ? My hero !
Tim, you have given a powerful voice to all of nature who are unable to defend and speak for themselves about the cruelty they endure simply for profit and pleasure. I support your efforts to making the world conscious of their choices and providing these creatures of God a ray of light to live a peaceful existence.
Hurrah for Tim Gunn!
These people will pay for this but in the interim we have to do everything we can as quickly as we can to stop them. If anyone has any power in these areas they must do everything they can to stop any and all of it.
go tim gunn.
I have to agree with you, Rebecca Odle. I turned off the video when the segment on rabbits appeared. I admire and respect Tim Gunn, a kind and affable gentleman, therefore, when he makes this most passionate statement on the use of fur in the clothing industry, I listen, Stand your ground, Mr. Gunn, the world listens also!
thanks Tim-- A most kind and gentle man
hile I am most certainly NOT a vegan, or even a vegetarian, and I do not believe that all Animal based products are uniformly wrong (especially in the case of cow leather, where the meat is already something we regularly consume as a society and a use is readily available for the skin) I think the cruelty we exhibit towards literally defenseless animals is absurd. The fashion industry, especially, does not need to support these kinds of practices for what are, in 90% of the cases, purely functionless additions to clothing. I will, for certain, be more wary of where the materials came from and the practices used the next time I look into buying a new leather jacket or anything of that sort which involves animal issues.
