“Girls, Don’t Get Boys’ Microwaves Running” [VIDEO]

Once again, Amplify has come through with another batch of “What I Learned in Abstinence Only Sex Ed Class” quotes.  And the only thing cuter than learning that women need financial security and boys “get hot quickly” like microwaves is having such “facts” recited by cute little cartoon animals.

Women need honesty?  These abstinence only sex ed lessons must not be made for them, then.

Abstinence only is a crock. It doesn't help teens with the real-life facts and decisions about the very real challenges of hormones and feelings teenagers have. But I'm confused. This cartoon is for the OTHER side, right? It is cleverly ironic, and teen/children viewing it, will know what a crock, "abstinence only" is. Right?!

If you're going to teach abstinence only, you need to give the kids something better than this, this stupid video is like saying cute girls get raped, and it's not about cute. Rape is a power and control issue, and it happens to ugly people, old people, etc. Just because some microwave is on high, if I say no, I mean it, plain and simple.

I sincerely hope this is only ONE, and that it's used as a talking point of why it's wrong to accuse, abuse, and so much more. Teen pregnancy is nothing to laugh at either.

Ridiculing abstinence education in no way invalidates it. Teens need time to grow into who they are, without being emotionally pulled down by sexual activity they are truly unready for.

They need encouragement to rise above the promiscuity message with its patterns of sexual compulsion, STD spread and long-term heartbreak. They need to know they are worth waiting for.

So girls are stupid, and need to talk, and it's all okay if she's cute, but if she's not, should she be abused? Then the contradiction that a cute girl is asking to be raped if she "dresses wrong". Yet boys are supposed to be allowed to think they're strong, and are still entitled to rape. This day and age, this is really backward thinking.

This video was cute, how ever the time was not spent as wisely as it could have been. This video did not provide the correct message that it intended .
Stop beating around the bush and make your point, we only get a few minutes when it comes to attention span, all this and I walk away with something that is just cute.

Wow, I love these satirical looks at the abstinence only course materials. They make me laugh out loud. I'm sorry that so many of the members of this forum don't understand that these materials are taken from actual courses and that these little cartoons are satires. The person who is not in the class asks such good questions of the person who is in the class! Those questions really point out how incredibly stupid and unfair those particular classes are.
